Name of organisation
History and purpose
British Naturism (BN) celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2014. BN campaigns to promote a wider acceptance of naturism and to encourage everyone to be happy in their bodies. It organises and supports a wide range of events around the UK, together with occasional events (such as holidays) overseas: some are only open to BN members, others are for the general public. It also helps new groups and naturist venues to get off the ground, liaises with government and other authorities, overcomes misunderstanding, prejudice and discrimination via the media, supports individuals in trouble and places under threat, and provides information and advice.
Structure and funding
Run by volunteers and supported by a small paid staff. Although BN aims to represent all naturists in the UK, there are additional benefits from becoming a member, including access to member-only events, discounts, holiday advice, internationally-recognised membership cards, and a quarterly magazine.
